POTHOLING
– UNDERGROUND LOCATING Services in PERTH

WHAT IS POTHOLING?

Excavations have the potential to be very dangerous. At worst, a struck power line or gas main could lead to loss of life or major damage to infrastructure.
At Prime Locate we use a process called “potholing” to safely and accurately expose the assets buried below the surface. This is done by excavating holes in the ground to confirm the location, depth, material & size of the services prior to works commencing.
This process is also known as “NDD” (Non destructive digging). It safely removes the soil away from the services, leaving them exposed and visible by eye.
This allows us to record the results as “Quality A”, an exact location known and proved which results in accurate and detailed findings.
Potholing can be beneficial in various projects such as road & civil design, horizontal boring, construction, surveying and project planning.
Before starting any excavation work, it’s important to Dial Before You Dig to get plans of underground utilities in your work area. This free service can help prevent accidents and protect critical infrastructure.
